Why am I not getting power to my electric baseboard heater?

Question by Dan: Why am I not getting power to my electric baseboard heater?
I have an electric baseboard heater. When I went to change it out for a new unit, I tested tho power and discovered that I wasnt getting any. I then checked the power coming to the thermostat, and again, no power. Is this a circut breaker problem, or something more sinister?

Chances are that your breaker is bad, did you check the line side of the Tstat or the load side, make sure you check both, and turn the Tstat all the way up so it is sure to close the switch. If you have voltage on the line side and not the load at this point, replace the stat.

If this is not the issue go to the breaker turn it all the way off and then back to on, check for voltage at the attachment screws. If there is voltage there, the problem could be much worse.
