Solar Water Heater Plans – Find Out What The Best Ones Are
There really are no top solar water heater plans, as they all encompass their good qualities as well as their bad; however, one of the simplest and most efficient plan that I have came across was the Khanh solar water heater. This was a “make it yourself” item which appeared in the Mother Earth Magazine during June of 1977.
The unit basically was a used 66 gallon hot water tank, which had been coated with stovepipe flat black paint. An inventor named Dinh Khanh designed and built the unit for only 0 dollars. This particular sun powered water heater was about as effortless to construct as you will ever find.
The water tank was enclosed within an insulated framework which was sheltered on the top with a section of Plexiglas. When Khanh bolstered his solar collector adjacent to a southern facing wall, he was able to preheat his water to a tepid 100 degrees. The cost savings to him was substantial and reached as much as 50 percent of his total hot water

Yes, you’ll have no problem. With heaters, the rated voltage is simply an upper limit, though if your electric supplier is supplying less than 240 volts you may not get as much heat from the heater as you expect. You might consider installing a 1500 watt, 240 volt heater as long as the breaker is rated at at least 15 amps.

Where would I find a grill for my old Hayward Williams wall heater?
Question by bamak007: Where would I find a grill for my old Hayward Williams wall heater?
Someone stole the grill to my Hayward Williams wall heater while my house was being worked on. They probably sold it for scrap metal. Where can I replace and old part like this in San Fernando, California?

Answer by HVAC Man
Are you sure someone stole it… Maybe they removed it and put it someplace safe so it didn’t get damaged?….. Scrap metal goes for good money, but you need tons of it to make it worth while….
You might be able to go to a local HVAC shop and they might be able to order one for you…. But if it’s really old I don’t think you will find one very easily.
Good Luck

Q&A: I need to find the web site for Rite Temp propane wall heaters.?
Question by Judith H: I need to find the web site for Rite Temp propane wall heaters.?
I want to order the mounting bracket and heater fan but every site I go to is incorrect.

Answer by Propane Guy
Are you sure the heater itself is made by Rite Temp? They make thermostats, not heaters. The heater should have a rating plate on it that lists the manufacturer’s name as well as model and serial numbers. If you give us that information we might stand a better chance of helping you. I’ve been in the propane business for 21 years and I’ve never seen a Rite Temp wall furnace…

Check the Internet for the manufacture, but you may need the model number for them to help you. Day & Night must have a web site.
